Before you start with any asana or breathing exercise, it is always advised to start with a warm-up yoga.

Cobra Posture (Pujangasana)

Benefits:

  • Strengthens the stomach muscles and improve the effective digestion process.

  • It keeps back muscles and backbone system in a healthy condition.

  • It increases lung, kidney, thyroid glands, and immune system function.

  • It helps for curing lower back pain, asthma, gastric trouble, and constipation.

How to do?

  • Lie down on your stomach in a way that full front body touching the floor; keep your hand near to the chest and el-bow raised upwards, breath normally. Remember your leg should be straight, together and toes stretched out.

  • While Breath in raise your upper body up to the hip level and bend your neck to see the roof.

  • Keep your face muscles relaxed and smiling. Feel the stretch around stomach and back muscles while breathing in and feel the relaxation while breathing out.

  • Stay there in this position for 3 rounds of breath-in & breath-out cycle. After that breath-out and go back to the normal position. Perform this for 2-3 times.

Caution:

  • Those who have severe neck pain don’t force to do more neck bending. Attempting this upto comfortable level will relieve and lower your neck pain in a longer run.

I will be narrating the steps to follow. Please watch the video and keep up.
