(WIND RELIEVING POSE)

Before you start with any asana or breathing exercise, it is always advised to start with a warm-up yoga.  

​

Pawanmuktasana (Wind Relieving Posture)

Benefits:

  • Most beneficial yoga for the person who is suffering from digestion related problems and gastric trouble.

  • It strengthens the stomach muscles and releases trapped gases from the food path.

  • Improves Liver and Pancreas function.

 

How to do?

  • Start with single-leg folding as shown below. Lie down on the mat, breath-in fold right leg and hold by both hands -- Hold your breath press your thigh towards your stomach

  • Breathing out raise your head towards your knee. In this position Breath-in and out normally for 3-4 rounds (Feel the movements in your stomach, stretch in your neck & back muscles while breathing in & out).

  • Breath-in returns your head to normal position, while breath-out stretch your leg and relax for 20 seconds.

  • Repeat this for the left leg. Repeat the set for 2 rounds.

 

Caution:

  • Those who have neck pain don’t force to do more forward bending. Attempt this up to your comfort level, day by day you can move forward.

  • This exercise will help to reduce your back pain.
